O’Riordan Bethel provides full life-cycle support for clients in construction and related professions. Our attorneys perform organization, review and analysis of contracts and associated technical documents, drawings and specifications; draft and negotiate subcontract and supply contracts; assess, prepare and present requests for equitable adjustment and claims; handle disputes and bonding claims through litigation or alternate dispute resolution. We also advise on Davis-Bacon Act, Service Contract Act, and socio-economic compliance matters (MBE, WBE, DBE, 8(a), 8(m), DVOBE, SDVOSB).
- On behalf of our construction manager client and the client’s municipal client, our attorneys designed, formed, and participated in non-binding Alternate Dispute Resolution “mini-trials” designed to hear claims raised by trade contractors, and to provide advice to the construction manager and the municipal authority with respect to the merits of the substantive claims to allow parties to identify and pursue resolution to disputes early in the progress of the project.
- We supported a DC Metro Area client’s negotiations with the Government of Azerbaijan for design and construction of an international highway, and assisted in the ongoing government affairs aspects to facilitate issuance of a notice to proceed, including project evaluation and assessment for client management; policy development and training; and materials sourcing and procurement negotiations, including shipping options.
