Our Client, Dr. Kimberly Brown, Featured in Newspaper Profile

Our client, Dr. Kimberly Brown, who is president and CEO of Baltimore-based Amethyst Technologies, was featured in an article in the Baltimore Times on May 13, 2016.

Dr. Brown founded the company in 2006, and it now has annual revenue of about $2 million and clients that include the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Coca-Cola, the US Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense, and numerous biotechnology companies.

Amethyst provides quality program development and comprehensive compliance services and products to the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, food and beverage industries, as well as to the federal government. Many of its clients are laboratories on the cutting edge of research into diseases like the Ebola virus, malaria and HIV.

Dr. Brown, who is trained as a chemical engineer, was quoted in the article as saying, “I started working in an organization and was the only engineer, so that created an opportunity for me to provide expertise. Most of our clients are required to adhere to FDA regulations for drug manufacturing, research, or clinical trials. And, what we are selling is a different approach. Part of that comes from everyone in this company having a different background and forming a team to deliver services for FDA and ISO compliance.”

Our law firm has helped Dr. Brown and her company as they learned the ins and outs of complying with federal contracting regulations, and we are proud to have shared our expertise with her.
