Reference for D.C. Agency Schedule’s and Processes During the COVID-19 Health Emergency

We have compiled below relevant information pertaining to D.C. Government Agencies in-person closures and changes for important deadlines or online filing information. We are constantly updating this list as new information becomes available.

Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA)

  • Remains operational. In-person service is CLOSED until April 27th, 2020. License renewals, registering corporations and forming LLC’s, as well as building permits (plan and permit reviews + certificate of occupancy process) can be done online. Inspections can be scheduled by phone or online.

DC Department of Transportation (DDOT)

  • Remains operational. In-person service is CLOSED until further notice.

Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)

  • Remains operational. In-person service is CLOSED until further notice. DMV has extended the due date for driver licenses, identification cards, vehicle regs, inspections, ticket payments, and ticket adjudication responses until April 17th, 2020.

Department of Insurance, Securities, & Banking (DISB)

  • Remains operational. In-person service is CLOSED until further notice. File complaints via DISB website (disb.dc.gov), or by contacting the department at disb.communications@dc.gov or (202) 727-8000.

Department of Human Services (DHS)

  • Remains operational. In-person service is OPEN until further notice. DHS will continue to hold administrative hearings and investigative interviews but will conduct these via telephone/video calls. Any court hearings will continue if court remains open.

Department of Corrections (DOC)

  • Remains operational. In-person service (visits) are CLOSED until further notice. DC Department of Corrections is suspending all in-person visits, programming, and volunteer activities at its facilities for the entirety of the public health emergency. The Department will provide video visitation for inmates while in-person visitation is suspended. Lawyers representing inmates are allowed.

DC Office of Attorney General (OAG)

  • Remains operational. In-person service is OPEN until further notice. OAG continues to take complaints by phone, email, and online. To report price gouging and other consumer complaints: call (202) 442-9828, email Consumer.Protection@dc.gov.

DC Housing and Community Development (DHCD)

  • Remains operational. In-person service is OPEN until further notice. Documents for the Rental Accommodations Division, Rent Administrator, and the Conversion and Sale Division can still be dropped at 1800 Martin Luther King Avenue, SE at the DC Department of Housing and Community Development and will be processed within three business days.

DC Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (DABA)

  • Remains operational. In-person service is OPEN until further notice. All services are available online. Annual License Payments extended to June 1st, 2020, any license expiration from March to May extended to June 1st, 2020.

DC Office of Administrative Hearing (DAH)

  • Not operational. In-person service is CLOSED until further notice.

D.C. Office of Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining (DLRCB)

  • Remains operational. In-person service is CLOSED until further notice. Contract Negotiations will continue via e-mail video conference and other telecommuting resources. Labor Litigation services will work with agency clients and unions to reschedule hearings. Agency Labor consultation, advice and support will continue as usual.

D.C. Office of Zoning (DOZ)

  • Remains partially operational. In-person service is CLOSED until emergency ends. Zoning Commission (ZC) and Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) – suspended.  All hearings and meetings are suspended until further notice. Interactive Zoning Information System (IZIS) – IZIS remains available for new case applications and submissions.

D.C. Contracting and Procurement (DCP)

  • Remains operational. In-person service is CLOSED until further notice. Contracting and Procurement Services – modified service. We will continue to provide contracting and procurement services to our client agencies and issue new solicitations virtually. Surplus Property Division (SPD) – suspended. We will temporarily suspend surplus property services, including posting items on the GovDeals online auction platform.
