We are delighted to announce that our partner Carol L. O’Riordan has been selected to receive the President’s Award of the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization – DC (WPEO-DC). The WPWEO is a regional partner organization of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the nation’s leading advocate of women-owned businesses.

The WBENC is a coalition of corporations, regionally focused women’s business organizations, and certified women business owners. It issues nationally recognized certifications to qualifying women-owned businesses in New York, Northern New Jersey, Southern Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. These certifications help these businesses obtain access to federal, state and local contract opportunities.
Ms. O’Riordan’s award was announced at the WPEO’s Annual Awards Breakfast in New York City on March 7, 2014.
The award goes to people who have worked hard to help achieve the goals of the WPEO, which include promoting and fostering women’s participation in business. The WPEO is dedicated to increasing access to business opportunities for women’s business enterprises (WBEs).
The awardees are selected each year by the WPEO’s President and Founder, Marsha Firestone, Ph.D., and by its Executive Director, Sandra Eberhard.

Ms. O’Riordan said, “I am humbled and honored to receive this award. The law firm that I helped found is dedicated, among other things, to helping women advance in the business world. This award is an affirmation of this basic value.”
The O’Riordan Bethel law firm is itself certified as a woman-owned business enterprise by the WBENC through WPEO-DC.
