Description of Work

O’Riordan Bethel currently provides subject matter expert/attorneys, whose duties include:

  • Supporting the operations of the Office of Solicitor (SOL), Acquisitions & Intellectual Property, U.S. Department of Interior (DOI);
  • Assisting DOI personnel in interpreting and complying with administrative and regulatory requirements in connection with procurement obligations under several federal statutes;
  • Advising DOI procurement personnel on current legal requirements regarding the FAR and agency procurement regulations;
  • Assisting SOL with ongoing procurement actions (including assistance with respect to Source Selection procedures);
  • Defending procurement decisions in agency-level, administrative and judicial bid protests, and agency defense of claims;
  • Assuring that staff assigned to SOL operate in a manner that fully complies with all applicable protocols and procedures and adhere to project timelines;
  • Communicating as appropriate with the COR and SOL supervisory staff to understand existing systems and procedures as well as planned or desired changes;
  • Developing protocol reports and documentation for staff;
  • Developing milestones and schedules for staff deliverables which we communicate to O’Riordan Bethel staff; and
  • Monitoring reports, staff meetings, and communications with the COR to assess progress.
